He was brought up in Merlán (Chantada) and emigrated to Barcelona when he was twenty. He worked as a metallurgist at 'SEAT' for eighteen years. He took a degree in Contemporary History at Barcelona University. He worked as a teacher and nowadays he directs the Record Office in Barcelona and is responsible for the heritage of San Andreu de la Barca (Barcelona).
He promoted Galician culture in Catalonia. He gives lectures and is a literary and art critic. He wrote eight essay books about different themes. He also wrote fifteen poetry books and literature for children and theatre. He is an expert on Portuguese Literature in Africa (he travelled to Africa on several occasions) and wrote poetry anthologies in Portugal, Mozambique, Angola, Guinea-Bissau, Macao and Brazil. His articles about Literature and History are collected in several publications.
He is an honourable member of the Association of Angolan Writers.
