Mercedes Ruibal emigrated to Argentina, where she met Laxeiro and became his follower. After staying in Buenos Aires for some years, she returned to Madrid, where she usually participated in the circles at Gijón Café and became famous. She married the architect Agustín Pérez Bellas.

Mercedes Ruibal created a very original work. Her pictures about bullfighting are very interesting.

 Other Interesting Aspects

The City Council of Vigo dedicated her a selective exhibition in 1993. Besides, his work can be found in important Galician museums as well as in the Museum of Contemporary Art and the collections of the bank firm ‘Caixanova’.
