His health problems prevented him from emigrating to America, where some of his relatives lived. He started his studies and finished Secondary Education in Lugo. In 1970, he graduated in Agricultural Engineering. Then he entered the National Institute for the Reform of Agricultural Development and started to work in Ourense. Shortly after, he moved to Santiago and carried out the project for the land consolidation in San Miguel de Vilar - Boqueixón (A Coruña). He also started Biology and Psychology at Santiago de Compostela University. In 1975, he entered the Corps of Agricultural Engineers and was appointed first to Ourense and then to Bilbao. He carried out his activity again in Ourense until he moved to Lugo, where he took up his activity again in 1980. Then he worked as a biologist in the 'Consellería de Cultura, Gandeiría e Política Agroalimentaria'. He participated in most Galician guarantees of vintage ('Ribeiro', 'Valdeorras'...), representing the Ministry of Agriculture. He was one of the founders of the conference 'I Xornadas Agrarias de Ourense' and participated as a teacher in the First Courses for Galician Environmental Inspectors. Nowadays, he is the head of the Industrialisation and Food Promotion Service of the 'Consellería de Política Agroalimentaria e Desenvolvemento Rural' in Lugo.

 Work & Activities

He has written articles for the newspapers El Progreso, La Voz de Galicia and La Vanguardia and collaborates in magazines such as 'Fronte e cocote', 'Comunidade Escolar' and 'Semana Vitivinícola'. He has also given many lectures all over Spain and made speeches in many gastronomic festivities in Galicia.
