He directed 'Pombal' School in Vigo for fifteen years and 'Nieto' Schools for two years.From 1974 to 1983, he was a councillor at the City Council of Vigo, being responsible for education and culture for five years.Besides, he was managing director of the bank firm 'Caja de Ahorros Municipal de Vigo', the Town Water Service, the Town Sports Centre, 'Castrelos' Foundation and delegate of the Music Conservatoire.As an actor, he took part in a serial of Galician TV for children and played a part in the play 'Así é se vos parece', performed by the Galician Drama Centre.He was also one of the founders of the association that fought for the creation of Vigo University, which took place in 1989.As far as sport is concerned, he was the vice-president of the basketball club 'Estudiantes' and member of the Basketball Federation of the South area in Galicia.He filled the office of 'Director General de Consumo' in the Xunta de Galicia for three years.He was the president of the club 'Círculo Mercantil de Vigo' for four years.In 1996, he founded the association 'Amigos de la Universidad de Vigo'. Nowadays, he is the secretary of the association.He was also one of the founders of the neighbour association 'Fonte do Galo' in Vigo and took part in a schooling campaign in 1978. He also collaborated so that the Music Conservatoire in Vigo could be considered as High Conservatoire.He was one of the founders of the basketball club 'Estudiantes' and the theatre groups of the Press Association and the COPE Group.
Hobbies: music and theatre. He continues to take part as an actor in some theatre plays.He married Marietta Rodríguez Yáñez and has two children: Paloma, who took a degree in Psychology and Pablo José, who took a degree in Business Sciences. He has also two grandchildren: Aldara and Jacobo.
