As a poet, he got 'Esquío' Prize (1986), the prize awarded by the Association of Spanish Critics (1987), the prize of Galician Criticism (1988) and 'Gonzalo Garcés' Prize (1999). He published commented editions of books by Celso Emilio Ferreiro, the edition of Poesía Galega Completa by Xosé Mª Álvarez Blázquez and some studies on contemporary Galician poets such as Álvaro Cunqueiro, Avilés de Taramancos and Xavier R. Baxeiras.

He is on the board of directors of the Associations of Writers in Galician Language and the Coordinating Group of the Forum of Galician Culture.
