He studied Medicine in Santiago. In 1917, he created a surgery clinic in Ferrol and became famous mainly for his human quality towards the humblest. His political activity focussed mainly on the defence against socialism and the movement for Galician autonomy, taking part in the first Assembly of the Galician movement 'As Irmandades da Fala'. He also collaborated in other political assemblies. As for his cultural activity, he took part in several newspapers such as Ferrol Deportivo, Diario de Vigo or El Correo Gallego, where he became editor. He also edited the magazine Céltiga. With the military revolt, he was shot in 1936

 Work & Activities

Together with his political action, Xaime Quintanilla carried out an interesting cultural activity and published works such as Saudade in 1922, the dramatic comedy Alén, the drama Donosiña or the work O nazonalismo musical galego.
