He studied Economy at Santiago University and Sociology at Paris VIII-Vinvennes University. By means of a grant from the French Government, he improved his studies on Sociology, as 'stagiare', with Pierre Bourdien at the Ecoles des Hantes Etudes en Sciences Sociales (EHESS), Paris. In Paris, he attended courses by Michael Foucalt (Collège de France), Roland Barthes (EHESS and Collége de France), Alain Touraine (EHESS) and Gilles Deleuze (Paris VIII-Vincennes University). He has been a Sociology Professor at the Faculty of Economical and Business Sciences in Santiago since 1973, where he teaches General Sociology, Business Sociology and Socioeconomy of the Social Movements (he suggested this subject for the new study plan and it was accepted). Since the 60's, he has been taking part in Galician, Spanish and international social movements, creating groups and coordinating committees to try to know one another and live better individually and socially. Since the 70's, he has been collaborating in different means of communication in Galicia and the rest of Spain. He coordinated the forum of Santiago University (for the Campus of Lugo and Santiago) and since the 70's, he has been organising lectures, conferences and congresses in order to link University to the social reality. Over 250 experts from Galicia, the rest of Spain and other countries took part in these activities.

He published twelve individual books and twenty-two collective ones. These are some of the most important: Fauna y flora estudiantil y profesoral ibérica, 1982; Sociología de la política en Galicia y España, 1985; La enseñanza reproductora y/o transformadora. Sociología de la educación y de la cultura de Pierre Bourdieu, 1988; Sociología de la violencia en el fútbol, 1990; Enquisa sobre do momento estudiantil galego e internacional, 1991; Economistas, empresarios, intelectuales, periodistas, políticos, prelados y sus mercados macro y micro sociales (la polémica liberal-intervencionista), 1999; La cultura y el caldo de cultivo de la droga en España y Galicia: ¡la droga arrasa!; as director: Sociología de la mujer en la universidad española y gallega, 1984; as editor: Cultura y medios de comunicación en sociedades dependientes, 1983 and Primeros encuentros de Comunicación: La Radio, 1986; with Pedro Arias: Las elecciones en Galicia 1977-1997, 1999 y Situación y perspectivas socioeconómicas de los 94 municipios de la provincia de A Coruña, May 2000.
