He has been a teacher since 1972 and civil servant in the Education Department.

 Work & Activities

He developed his syndicalist activity in CC.OO. until 1982. In 1982, he joined the Socialist Party and was elected Mayor of Culleredo in May 1983. He is the president of the Socialist Party of Culleredo and was on the Employment Commission of the Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces during two sessions.
 
He is on the Social Service Commission of the Galician Federation of Municipalities and Provinces and is a member of the Galician Town Planning Commission. He is also a member of the Galician Environment Council and the Galician Social Service Council, representing the Galician Federation of Municipalities and Provinces.
 
He is member of Economy Commission of the FEMP and PSdeG-PSOE Municipal Policy Secretary in the province of A Coruña.

 Other Interesting Aspects

He was president and founder of “As Mariñas” Consortium, which is a local entity that groups nine municipalities of A Coruña with 150.000 inhabitants.
