In 1987, he became Spanish champion (10,000 metres). In 1994, he also won the Spanish Cross-country Race Championship within the senior category. In 1993 and 1994, he was runner-up in 5,000 metres (senior category) and runner-up in the Spanish Cross-country Race Championship (senior category) in 1993. He became Latin American runner-up within the senior category (5,000 metres) in 1990 and Iberian champion (10,000 metres) in 1993. In 1986, he went in for a World Junior Championship of Cross-country Race, where the reached the nineteenth position. He also took part in nine World Senior Championship of Cross-country Race getting the following positions: 1989 (58th); 1990 (153 th); 1991 (28 th); 1993 (29 th); 1994 (70 th); 1995 (18 th); 1997 (80 th), 1999 (27 th). In 1994, he held the fourth position in the European cross-country Race Championship. In 1995, he reached the 49th position and the 27th in 1999. In 1994, he held the sixth position in the European Championship (5,000 metres). He reached the 16th position in the World Championship (10,000 metres) in 1993 and the 23rd position in the Olympic Games of Barcelona (1992). He won the Galician Cross-country Race Championship in 1992 and 1999. He also won the Galician 1,500 metres Championship in 1994 and 1995 and the 10,000 metres Championship in 1999.
