When he was a child he was already keen on painting. When he was 14 years old he got a grant and moved to Madrid getting in touch with the artistic and literary circles of the city. However, he spent most of his life in Galicia although he sometimes travelled to America to exhibit his works.

 Work & Activities

The artistic work by Jesús Rodríguez Corredoira has not been well studied yet. His iconography is spiritualized and the characters dignified. Some of his paintings are La Sagrada Familia, Capilla de Nuestra Señora de las Angustias, Hambre en Lugo and Peregrinos. His artistic work is clearly influenced by El Greco mainly because of styling and language of the characters? hands. He also portraits influenced by other painters such as Sorolla or Romero de Torres.
