María Sande studied English in London.

Her profesional career is linked to the private sector, where she filled the offices of managing director, manager of cultural consulting projects and responsible for creative strategic planning.

 Work & Activities

She has directed all sort of projects and exhibitions regarding tourism, health and education.

She is the author of the homage to the 25th anniversary of the Statute of Autonomy of 1981 and the 70th anniversary of the Statute of Autonomy of 1936 (2006) and has collaborated in successful exhibitions like “Camiños de Paz”, which was remembered to have been the best sacred art exhibition in the last twenty years in Galicia.

She enjoys creating new ideas and projects.

She brings back the memories of our cultural and historical roots in order to share the research work and go on discovering the inheritance of our ancestors.

She is considered to be one of the best contemporary Galician writers about historical research.

As a lecturer, she thinks there is nothing more interesting than history knowing how to transmit it. His speeches are light and practical, she uses tradition, anecdotes and description of old customs, making use of biography, literature and art.

Her last book, “Un siglo de Autoridad Portuaria”, was presented in the gala homage celebrated in Ferrol on 26th August 2010 and was well accepted among readers.

Her new book, “Tres siglos de Alcaldes de Ferrol”, deals with the history of all the mayors of Ferrol since 1733 up to date.

She will present soon two new books about historic research: “Los Gobernadores Civiles de Galicia”, which will be published in four volumes, and “Recuerdos de un muelle histórico”, which compiles the history of the port authorities in A Coruña.
