He took a degree in Law. He was a priest, lawyer, general vicar of Toledo archbischopric and abbot of Alcalá la Real. He was also the president of the Castilian government under the protection of Count of Monterrey and his relative Count-Duke of Olivares.
Tractatus de regia protectione et oppressorum a causis judicibus eccelsiastici (1627) is his most important work. He also wrote: Tractatus de Supplicatione ad Sanctisimum a Bullis et Litteris Appostolicis (1639); Larynthus creditorum concurrentium (1651)... Some of his unpublished works are still preserved.
He defended the colonists that had their land in a forum. He was against the abuses they were subjected by the owners of the forum, mainly the benedictine abbeys.
