When he was fifteen, he got in the choral music thanks to Father José Castiñeira, singing in the Choral Society of Lugo. He studied Biology at Santiago University. After taking his degree, he began to direct the 'Xosé Castiñeira' Singing School. In 1992, he took part in the Galician operetta Non chores, Sabeliña, playing the role of 'Xastrico'. That same year he was called to direct the Choral Society of 'Xeral-Calde' Hospital and founded, together with other partners, the vocal group 'Sólo Voces', being very successful.
Javier Busto, Julio Domínguez, Fernando Eldoro, Carl Hogset, Dante Andreo, Manel Cabero, Monstserrat Pueyo, Lola Bossom and Antón de Santiago were some of his teachers in the field of choral music.
In 1998 he started the choir of Santiago de Compostela University (GECEMUS). He conducted this choir for five years, carrying out important concerts and training university students. Since September 1999 he had been conducting the group 'Conjunto Vocal Lugh', created within the cultural association 'Xungalú' (Xunta de Galicia en Lugo).
Together with the group 'Sólo Voces', he has developed a very important musical activity:
-Since 1994 he has been organising sacred music concerts in Lugo to celebrate Easter.
-1995: First prize at the Galician Choir Contest, organised by Galician TV and Xunta de Galicia.
-1996: First Performance Prize at 'Anselmo Iglesias' Memorial in Ourense.
-1998: Second prize at the fifteenth edition of the 'Villa de Avilés' International Choir Contest and special prize to 'charm and image'.
-2000: First prize at the third edition of 'Villa de Marín' Choir Contest.
-2000: Gold Diploma for small mixed choirs in the tenth edition of the Advent Festival, celebrated on 1st, 2nd and 3rd December in Prague.
-2002: Concert in Salzburg in December at the Franciscan Church. This concert was an important step for the group as Salzburg is the best reference of classic music and la Franciscan Church is the place where Mozart played on many occasions.
-He recorded two CDs, one titled 'Cantares" with some arrangements of South American and spiritual songs and modern music and another one, together with the Orchestra of Xove, with plays by Juan Montes and other musicians from Lugo, titled 'Clásicos Gallegos. Volumen 1'.
-Coming out of a book about Juan Montes written by José López Calo, together with the Orchestra of Xove and the pianist Aurelio F. Chao. Fernando Gómez Jácome goes on promoting the important work of this famous musician and composer from Lugo.
He has given courses about vocal techniques for several institutions and Santiago and A Coruña Universities. In 2003, he was nominated as ‘lucense del año’.
