1985: Degree in Romance Philology at the University of Santiago de Compostela.
1992: Doctor’s degree in Romance Philology at the University of Santiago de Compostela.
1990: University assistant in the Romance Philology area.
1992: Renewal of the contract as university assistant for three years more once she got her doctor’s degree.
1994: Temporary teacher.
1996: Full time Professor. 
Her research activity focuses on the edition and study of the Medieval Galician-Portuguese poetry, especially the ‘Cantigas de Santa María’ of Alfonso X, the Wise King, which constituted the main theme of her doctoral thesis. She concentrated her research efforts in this field and published three monographs: ‘As Cantigas de Santa María’, Xerais, Vigo (2002), ‘Cantigas de Santa María. Proposta de explotación didáctica’, Centro Ramón Piñeiro para a Investigación en Humanidades, Xunta de Galicia (2005; in collaboration with Milagros Muíña) and ‘As Cantigas de Loor de Santa María. Edición e comentario’ (E. Fidalgo, coord.), Centro Ramón Piñeiro para a Investigación en Humanidades, Xunta de Galicia (2004).

Her interest increased throughout time also focussing her research on the hagiographic literature and brief narrative as well as on the Galician-Portuguese secular literature.

- Member of the research project directed by Professor Rocío Sánchez Ameijeiras (“Cultura visual y cultura libraria en la Corona de Castilla, 1284-1350”). It was subsidized by the Ministry of Education and Science, 2006-2008.
From October 2002 to May 2004 she directed language courses.
At the moment she coordinates the Inter-university Postgraduate Course in Publication in collaboration with the University of Vigo.
