He founded ‘Industrias Abella’, the first meat industry in Galicia after the Civil War. When he was eighteen, he emigrated to Argentina, where he worked as a commercial agent. He returned to Spain in 1917 and nine years later he married Justa Ramallo Naya. During the 30’s he moved to A Coruña and devoted himself to flour trade.
