She took a degree in Romance Philology at Santiago de Compostela University (1981) with the minor thesis A fala do Val de Láncara (1982) and her doctor's degree with the doctoral thesis Léxico de Moravia na novela curta in 1994. She taught Galician Language and Literature at 'Lucus Augusti' Secondary School (1983-87) and the Language School (1987-91) in Lugo. She was an assistant lecturer of Italian Philology at Santiago de Compostela University (1991-99) and she has been a Professor of Italian Philology since May 1999. From January to June 1996, he worked at Sorbonne Nouvelle University Paris III. He gave doctorate courses and lectures in Spanish and foreign institutions. She also stayed at Italian, French and English Universities to do some research works and took part in different research projects subsidised by the Ministry of Education and the Xunta de Galicia.

 Work & Activities

She wrote the following books: Antología de textos para los cursos de extranjeros, Publication Service of Santiago University, Santiago de Compostela University, 1982; Léxico de Moravia na novela curta, Microficha 421, ISBN 84-8121-179-6; Aproximación ó léxico do Val de Láncara, Publication Service of the County Council of Lugo, Lugo, 1997; Lingua Italiana I, ?Citania? Publications, Lugo, 1999 and Diccionario Italiano-Galego, Grafinova, Santiago de Compostela, 2000. She has published several articles in homages, minutes and Philology magazines about contrastive linguistics, language didactics and lexicology. She is about to publish Lingua Italiana para Galegófonos and Textos de Italiano para estudiantes de italiano como L2. She is working on a Galician-Italian contrastive grammar with a group of Italian and Galician researchers. She also participated in many national and international conferences and at the moment she is organising the the 'XXVIII Colloque International de Linguistique Fonctionnelle'. She is a member of the Society of Spanish Italianists and the 'Societé International de Linguistique Fonctionnelle'.
