Alberto Rodríguez Díaz

He took a degree in Law at the University of Vigo and after a public competition he entered the Civil Administration. Today he is working for the Merchant Navy Office in Vilagarcía de Arousa. He also combines his job with his activity as cinema critic on Radio Municipal de Allariz (“Banda Aparte”) and “Autofocus” (cinema blog). He is keen on cinema and has participated in several round table talks and cineforums organized by the University of Vigo and social and cultural centres. 
 
1999: He made his début as a writer when he was sixteen and was awarded the prize of the 4th edition of Ánxel Casal Literary Prize organized by the City Council of Santiago de Compostela with “O pecado e a donicela”. 
2000: “Caeu a noite”. He was awarded an accesit at the ‘XVII Concurso de Cuentos para la Juventud’ (Ourense). This text was published in Algália in 2002. 
2002: “Mátame a melancolía”, 3rd prize at the ‘IV Concurso de Cuentos Ultraligeros de Chantada’. 
2005: “Os reinos da conciencia”. With this work he was awarded the first story prize in the Story, Poetry and Translation Prize organized by the University of Vigo. 
2009: “Marcha Triunfal”, Manuel-Oreste Rodríguez Prize, Paradela (Lugo) and “Sombras para despois de Walpurgis”, Ourense Prize – ‘XXVI Concurso de Cuentos para la Juventud’ (Ourense).
2010: “O sangue que tinxe as rúas de Gotham”, accesit at the 12th edition of Ánxel Fole Contest (Lugo).
