Since he was very young, his father, who was a member of the Spanish Society of Ornithology, introduced him in the natural world. He made this activity compatible with his great literary vocation. He is a Literature teacher of Secondary Education. He founded the group 'Colectivo Ecologista Radical' to defend environment. Together with other people, he also founded the 'Environmental Collective in defence against nature' and the Assembly of Environmental Groups in Galicia. From 1987 to 1999, he took an active part in politics with the political party 'Os verdes de Galicia'.
