He studied Biology and took his degree in Santiago de Compostela in 1978. He teaches Biology and Geology at Xoán Montes Secondary School in Lugo. Poet, narrator, novelist and essayist, he is also an expert on popular mythology and oral literature. He was awarded García Barros Narrative Prize (1990), Xerais Prize (1998) and Merlin Prize (child and youth literature) in 2002; Eusebio Lourenzo Baleirón Poetry Prize (1995) and Esquío Prize (1996); Xenciana Prize (fantastic narration) in 1995 and Modesto Figueiredo Prize (tales) in 1988.
