After finishing Secondary Education and the GCE A-level studies at Lucus Augusti Secondary School in Lugo (1965-71), he studied Philology and French at the Teaching School (1972-75). In 1977 he began to work as a teacher in Santa Cruz de La Palma (La Palma - Canarias), where he also studies at the Spanish Open University. Then, he worked as a teacher in the following secondary schools: ‘Anselmo Pérez de Brito’ (La Palma 1977-1979), ‘San Antonio’ (La Palma 1979-1986), ‘Aquilino Iglesia Alvariño’ (Abadín, 1986-1988) and ‘Antonio Insua Bermúdez’ (Vilalba, 1988-1998). Since 1998 he has been teaching Galician Language and Literature at ‘Santiago Basanta Silva’ Secondary School in Vilalba (Lugo).
He carried out directive functions in the folowing Secondary Schools: ‘San Antonio’, La Palma – Canarias (1985-86), ‘Antonio Insua Bermúdez’, Vilalba - Lugo (1995-98), and ‘Santiago Basanta Silva’ (1999-2000).
On 28 September 2001 he was elected president of the ‘Instituto de Estudios Chairegos’.
He collaborates in some magazines and collective publications of the ‘Instituto de Estudios Chairegos’ as well as in some media.
He was awarded the Second Essay Prize at the ‘Certame Literario do Instituto Masculino’ (1967) and the First Narrative Prize at the ‘Certame de Contos Breogán 2004’ (37th edition), organised by the Galician Centre of Barakaldo.
