He worked in 'ASTANO' for 20 years (from 1978 to 1998), first as a draughtsman in the Room of Naval Architecture, then as economist at the Budget Department. He was a member of the works committee and the national secretariats of the tradeunions 'INTG' and 'CIG'. Xesús Díaz was a member of the political party 'PGG' from 1970 to 1977. Nowadays, he is the regional responsible for the economical and social area of the political party 'BNG' and he is a member of the Galician Parliament (he was the president of the Economy Commission in the last session).
