After studying Humanities and Philosophy in the Seminary of Santiago, he studied Teaching and graduated in Romanic Philology at the Open University. He worked as a teacher in Serra de Outes (1968-69), Tirea – Muros (1969-74), Esteiro – Muros (1974-98) and ‘As Insuas’ Secondary School in Muros, which he directed (1968-2003). Nowadays, he is retired. He was a candidate to the Senate, representing the BN-PG in 1977 and to the Parliament in 1979. He was also a town councillor of the BNG in Muros from 1979 to 1987. He founded and directed the following theatre groups: ‘Talía’ (Noia, 1962-66), ‘Candeo’ (Noia, 1973-80), ‘Agrocovo’ Theatre for children (1975-98), ‘Xestruxo’ (Esteiro, 1982-86) and ‘O Xeito’ (Esteiro, 2004). Besides, he was the editor-in-chief of the magazine ‘Barbanza’ (1988-90) and editor of the magazine ‘A Motora’ (1993). He was on the editorial staff of the magazine ‘Alameda’ and directed Toxosoutos Publications.
He published the following books: Efemérides noiesas (1971), O espantapaxaros (1972), Aproximación didáctica á obra de Avilés de Taramancos (1985), Candea 70 (1989), O xogo dramático (1990), Os sete coitelos (1992), A freguesía de Sta. Cristina de Barro (1996), Noia, porto de Compostela (2002), Avilés de Taramancos (2003), Noia, ribeiras de mar enxoito (2003) and Rumbo ao Maluco (2003).
He was awarded ‘O Facho’ Prize (1971), ‘Leixaprén’ Prize (2001), ‘Avilés de Taramancos’ Prize (2003) and the Medal of Muros (2003).
