Although he was born in Madrid, his parents were Galician. He studied at a religious school and then started Engineering although he soon gave it up. In 1976, he established himself in a village near A Coruña and shortly after he took a degree in Sociology. He learnt Galician in Madrid and he has been teaching Galician Language and Literature in a Secondary School since 1982. Nowadays, he lives in Las Mariñas.
He published his first book when he still lived in Madrid. These are some of his most important works: Os inmortais, O Fotógrafo, Calendario, Informe Bestiario, Homes de ningures, A Semancia, A ponliña irlandesa, Salvador de Occidente, Por tras dos meus ollos, (Os partidos políticos na Galiza and Vinicius de Morais).
He likes 'Les Luthiers' group, Brazilian music, Miklós Rózsa, Aram Ghachaturian and musical archaeology.
