He filled the following offices: technician in the bank firm 'Banco de España' (1948), auditor of 'Banco de España' (1960), director general of 'Pescanova, Ltd.' (1962), director general of Marine Fishing in the Ministry of Commerce (1975), deputy in Pontevedra (1977), under-secretary of Fishing and Merchant Navy in the Ministry of Transports and Communications (1977-78), director of 'Banco de España' in Barcelona (1980) and subdirector general of 'Banco de España' 81989). Nowadays he is retired.

He collaborates in Galician newspapers writing about economic matters and Galician development and works as an adviser in the following companies: 'Polipropileno de Galicia, S.A.' (Ferrol), 'Unión Fenosa' (Madrid) and 'Corporación Alimentaria Vima' (Vigo).

He got the Order of the Constitutional Merit (granted by His Majesty the King), the plaque and band to the cooperative merit of the sea (granted by the National Union of the Sea Cooperatives in Spain), the Cross of the Naval Merit (granted by His Majesty the King), the 'Creu de Sant Jordi' (granted by the President of the Generalitat of Catalonia) and 'Fernández-Latorre' Prize (A Coruña, 1985) about the energy situation in Galicia.
