His interest in the movement for Galician autonomy made him give up his job as commercial traveller. In 1918, he already took part in the Nationalist Assembly in Lugo. Then he took part in the movement 'As Irmandades da Fala' and founded the Galician Party, being a member of the board of directors. He collaborated with the newspaper A Nosa Terra and became the editor. When the revolt took place on 18th July 1936, he was sentenced to death and shot.
Despite his short life, Víctor Casas was an outstanding figure in favour of Galician autonomy. He wrote several journalistic articles, which were not published.
