He studied with the musicians Vicente Giner, José Tomás, Andrés Segovia, John Williams and Leo Brouwer. He was a Professor at the Conservatoire of Ourense. Now, he is a Professor at the Music Conservatoire of Vigo (being the headmaster from 1986 to 1995).
He played concerts in Europe and Asia: London, Paris, Bonn, Munich, Seoul, Tokyo,... and he took part in international festivals such as 'Dublin Arts Festival', 'Festival de Guitare de Liege", 'Andrés Segovia' Festival, etc. He recorded for TV in Germany, Yugoslavia, Portugal, France and Spain. He was invited to offer courses and lectures in Spain and other European countries.
He published didactic books, a CD about 'Leo Brower' (produced by Several Records), a monograph about Bach and a recent recording with the soprano Teresa Nova and music by Falla, Rodrigo and F. García Lorca. He composed the music for the Galician short film Soldado sen fortuna.
