He took a degree in Sociology and Political Sciences at the Complutense University (Madrid), a master’s degree in Organization of Career Guidance Services for Work Placements (University of Santiago) and got a diploma in Business Management at the Spanish Open University. He has developed his professional activity in the civil service and since 2004 he has been responsible for the Social Service Area at A Coruña City Council. Besides, he coordinated ‘Proyecto Equal Coruña Solidaria’, was responsible for the Employment Service at Ferrol City Council and worked as a sociologist in the ‘Consellería de Familia e Promoción do Emprego’ and ‘Consellería de Traballo e Servizos Sociais’. He also collaborated at Chavós Association and directed Chavorré Callé Centre for the integration of the gipsy community.
He was the manager of the Galician Institute of Scenic and Musical Arts (IGAEM).
