In 1989, she took her degree in Law at Navarra University and her doctor's degree at Vigo University in 1994. Since June 1996, she has been a Professor of Roman Law at Vigo University. She enjoyed an 'ERASMUS' scholarship at Göttingen (1994) and Florence (1996) Universities. She was a councillor responsible for Public Finance at the City Council in Ourense (1995-98), and General Director of the 'Consellería de Familia, Promoción do Emprego, Muller e Xuventude' and the 'Consellería de Ordenación do territorio'.
She published several articles in specialised magazines about law and her doctoral thesis 'As explotacións minerais na Gallaecia Romana'.
She has a son and loves motorbikes, sea, sports and everything related to young people.
