She has been working at the Provincial Museum of Lugo since 1991, where she held the following offices: responsible for the Education Department (1996-1999), coordinator of General Matters (1999-2000) and director of the Provincial Museum and San Paio de Narla Museum-Fortress (2000-2006).
As a result of the setting-up of the Provincial Museum Network in June 2006, she was nominated as manager of the board, holding this office up to the moment. The Provincial Museum Network consists of the Provincial Museum of Lugo, San Paio de Narla Museum-Fortress, Museum of the Sea in San Cibrao and Pazo de Tor).

 Work & Activities

She participated as a rapporteur and lecturer in various meetings about museum didactics and management: Summer University of Joaquín Díaz Professorship, Medina del Campo (2000), Museum of Warsaw (2001) and 9th Galician Conference on Museum, where she presented the report “A xestión do Museo de Lugo e a rede provincial de museos” (2006).
She organized many exhibitions, even some international exhibitions: “Ars Moenia. Obra actual de artistas lucenses no MPL”, itinerant exhibition presented in Madrid, Lugo, León and the Rumanian cities Constanta and Kluj Napoca; “Sendeiros do pasado”, ethnographic exhibition moved to the Museum of Warsaw, Poland in 2001; “Amor en las nubes” by Mónica Alonso at the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art Museum of Valdivia (Chile, 2004) and “Am 34x24 vol.1” by Antonio Murado, exhibition celebrated in Lugo and in the European Parliament (Brussels, 2006).
She coordinated over seventy publications (guides, catalogues of collections and temporary exhibitions...), which were published by the museums dependent on Lugo County Council. She also wrote introductory texts and articles in all these publications.
She usually collaborates in “Boletín do Museo Provincial de Lugo”, “Artesonado” and “Boletín Famislu”, where she wrote articles about varied themes as for example “AM 34x24, vol. I. Pintura alegórica e autobiográfica de Antonio Murado. Papeis no ar despois da explosión”. The Autonomous University of Madrid published in 2005 a text she wrote about the collection of chandeliers of Varela Dafonte and the exhibition “Ilumina”. Together with Enrique Alcorta Irastorza (archaeologist), she wrote the monograph “Arqueoloxía romana no MPL”.
Besides, she is the author of several didactic books related to activities of the museums dependent of Lugo County Council: “Eu son unha peza de Museo” (Book for pupils and book for teachers) and “Pintura española dos séculos XIX e XX” (Book for pupils and book for teachers).

 Other Interesting Aspects

She was a member of the panel in many art prizes: Scholarships of Unión Fenosa Contemporary Art Museum, MACUF (2005), Valladolid Culture Foundation (2002) and International Ceramics Prize, Cordova City Council.
The Provincial Museum of Lugo was awarded ‘Crítica de Galicia’ Prize (category: Science and Art of Representation). According to the report of the jury, it was awarded the prize “in recognition of art spreading in Galicia by means of the transformation carried out by the museum in the last years, which allowed a social and cultural dinamization and repercussion promoted by the work team led by Encarnación Lago González”.
