Member of the executive committtee of the Socialist Party. Mayor of O Carballiño – Ourense from 1995 to 2005 and provincial deputy.

Deputy in the Galician Parliament from 1993 to 1995 and elected again in the seventh session.

Member of the FEGAMP and promotor of the Association of Thermal Villages in Spain and the Galician Thermal Institute.

He was ‘Conselleiro’ responsible for Environment and Sustainable Development from 2005 to 2009.
