He studied Fine Arts in Madrid, where he started to work as illustrator and graphic designer in publishing houses and advertising agencies.

 Work & Activities

Nowadays, he collaborates with several Galician and foreign publishing houses, sharing this activity with painting and graphic design. He has illustrated over eighty books such as ¡Piratas na buguina!, As bruxas esdrúxulas, Primpín e dona gata, Cuentos enanos de personajes extraordinarios, Imos xuntos camiñar... The Ministry of Education and Culture selected him for the exhibition 'A todo color' 2000. He also made illustrations for the publishing houses 'Anaya', 'Xerais', 'Galaxia', 'EDEBE', 'SM', 'Edelvives', 'Susaeta', 'Everest', 'Magisterio', 'Casals' and 'Ir Indo'. He collaborated with some advertising agencies to make graphic design: Ribeiro's viticulture, La Toja Hotel, La Toja Casino, Erconsa, City Council of Vigo, Xunta de Galicia, City Council of Redondela, Martin Casal, GEA Group, Cedonosa, Cubiertas y MZOV. He was the scriptwriter and director of the submarine documentaries on TV 'Os latexos da nosa ría'. The documentary of this serial ('Unha batea afundida) was awarded a prize at the International Festival of Submarine Cinema 93 in Antibes. The chapters 'Fronteiras perdidas' and 'Pendente infralitoral' were awarded each a prize at the Second and Third Contests 'Video del Mar' in Viveiro, Lugo. He was the scriptwriter and director of the documentary 'Cíes, Islas de los dioses'.

 Other Interesting Aspects

These are some of most outstanding prizes and distinctions he got: Honourable mention at Avignon Salon (1983). Mention at the Autumn Exhibition in Evian (1984). Prize at 'Mascota' Competition, awarded by the football club R. C. Celta de Lugo (1996). 'Rañolas' Illustration Prize (1997). First prize at the competition for the corporate image for the new firm Caixa Galicia (merger of Caixavigo, Caixa Ourense and Caixa Pontevedra).
