He became a Franciscan monk in 1881 and worked as a lector of Theology until 1910. Besides, he was the librarian of the convent.

He published the following books: La concha de la catedral (1918); Descubrimiento de las reliquias del Apóstol Santiago en 1879 (1920), collection of articles; La cripta del apóstol Santiago (1922); Autenticidad de las reliquias del apóstol Santiago (1922-1925), collection of articles and editions of Historia Compostelana (1925-29 and reissued in 1950) and Cronicón Iriense (1929-30), translated and registered in El Eco Franciscano.
