He took a degree in Theology, Biblical Sciences and Philosophy. He was honorary dean of the metropolitan chapter of Santiago of Compostela and honorary dean of the Braga Basilica (Portugal).
He collaborated in press, radio and television. He wrotes three biographies of St James the Apostle, a guide of Santiago's cathedral, a book about important Galician people, articles in magazines and encyclopaedias and a translation of the Bible into Galician (together with Manuel Casado Nieto).
He was the president of the Committee of the association 'Cocina Económica de Santiago' and secretary of the 'Sociedad Económica de Amigos del País' (Santiago de Compostela).
