He began to learn blacksmith's job but he was dismissed for stealing. It was then that he began his criminal career. He was arrested and convicted to death, although later it was commuted to life imprisonment. He was in several Spanish jails (Ceuta, Santoña and Valencia) and finally he was set free (it is thought it was in 1932).
