He took a degree in Journalism (1962) and is a Radio and Television programmer. He started to work for the newspaper El Faro de Vigo in 1962. Since 1962, he has filled the following offices: editor of the newspaper El Correo Gallego (Santiago), editor in chief in the radio station 'Radio Popular' (Vigo), director of Galician TV, responsible for the radio station 'Antena 3' in Vigo and Pontevedra, programme and broadcasting director in Madrid and head of news programmes and director of Televigo. He has collaborated in many newspapers and magazines. In 1976, he was the president of the Press Association of Vigo and treasurer of the National Federation of Spanish Press Associations.

 Work & Activities

He wrote the storybook El Luciérnaga and six books about Vigo's history such as Vigo no espello dos nosos avós (Xerais, Vigo, 1991) and Gallegos al volante. 1900-1930 ('Instituto de Estudios Vigueses, Vigo, 1995), (national prize of 'RACE' Foundation). Together with other writers, he also worte another three books about Vigo's history and took part in many collective books. He is also the author of about a thousand research articles about Vigo's history (press and radio).

 Other Interesting Aspects

He is a foundation member of the 'Instituto de Estudios Vigueses' (Institute of Studies on Vigo) and got the distinction 'honorary citize of Vigo' in 1999. He was a delegate of the Ministry of Culture in Pontevedra (1979-81) and secretary of the political party 'UCD'. He was the secretary of this party and member of the standing committee in the Galician Parliament during the first session. Nowadays he is the adviser of the political party 'partido popular' in the City Council of Vigo.
