He studied Philosophy and became a teacher but he devoted himself to Journalism as well. He spent his life in his native city, whose landscape was always present in his books. In spite of having one of the mot promising voices of the Galician lyric, his early death did not let us have a complete and nature work.

 Work & Activities

He started his literary activity publishing two short narrations: Maliaxe (1922) and Os pobres de Deus (1925). During his life he only published a poetry book: Proel (1927). O Galo appeared posthumously in 1928. Luis Amado reflected in his poems the landscape of his city. He personified the rural world and gave the landscape human characteristics. His poetry is a mixture of new tendency images and popular metrics and rythm. His complete work titled Obras en prosa e verso was published in Vigo in 1970.

The Galician Academy dedicated him ?O Día das Letras Galegas? (The Day of the Galcian Letters) in 1982.
