He graduated as a registered nurse in Barcelona.
He started his career as a medical assistant in A Lama (Pontevedra) and nowadays he is the regular medical assistant at the Health Centre of Quiroga.
In 1987, he started his political activity in the “Partido Popular” and after winning the elections he became Mayor of Quiroga up to date.
He collaborated as an adviser of the “conselleira” responsible for Family Matters, Manuela López Besteiro, in 1994. Two years later, he became president of the Galician Federation of Municipalities and Provinces up to 2000.
He was also provincial deputy from 1994 to 2007 and second vice-president of the County Council of Lugo from 1999 to 2007.
He is married and has three children.
He likes to spend his leisure time with his family, fishing and looking after a vegetable garden.
