He carried out important missions in the African coast and Oceania for ten years (1755-65). He first travelled to Oriente with an expedition to China Sea, then he travelled to the Philippines on three occasions. In 1774, he was responsible for the exploration of some islands to rectify some mistakes in the maps and charts.

These are some of his most important works: Diario de la navegación de la escuadra y convoy del mando del marqués de Casa-Zilly; Diario de navegación del navio "Poderoso" de Montevideo a España,etc.

 Other Interesting Aspects

After being promoted to general lieutenant (1780), he was nominated as general captain of the Depatment of Cádiz. He was awarded many decorations such as the Cross of Carlos III.
