Curriculum

He was regional delegate of syndicates in Ponteareas from 1963 to 1975. He was mayor in Ponteareas from 27th November 1968 until 12th September 2000 and town councillor and third deputy mayor from September 2000 to June 2003. He was the president of the ‘Mancomunidad del Condado’ since it was founded on 14th March 1974 until 20th September 1999. He was the president of the Galician Federation of Municipalities and Provinces since it was founded on 7th April 1989 to 1992, national deputy from 1989 to May 1993 (fourth session), senator representing Pontevedra from 6th June 1993 to March 1996. In June 1994, he was nominated as member of the European Council, member of the executive committee of the Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces (1983-85 and 1987-1999) and member of the federal council of the Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces (1989-1997).
