He took a degree in Law at Santiago de Compostela University in 1979 and attended doctorate courses in 1985. In 1981, he entered the Justice Administration as secretary, the judicial career in 1989 and promoted to magistrate in 1990. He is a Professor at the University College of Labour Relations. Today he is the president of the Provincial Court of Lugo.
He has given over a hundred reports in juridical courses and is the author of twenty-five research works. His work El cuerpo humano como medio de prueba, en especial las intervenciones corporales was awarded the Juridical Research Prize, organized by the General Council of the Judicial Power and the Xunta de Galicia in 1995.
He is a member of the European Judicial Network and consultant for Central America designed by the General Council of the Judicial Power. He is on the editorial staff of the Spanish magazine ‘Daño Corporal’ and is a juridical adviser member of the ‘Consellería de Industria’. From 1999 to 2003, he was the president of ALIAD. He was awarded several decorations such as the Cross of San Raimundo de Peñafort Order and Concepción Arenal Medal.
