He specialised in Rehabilitation at 'Complutense' University (Madrid) and Traumatology and Orthopaedic Surgery at Santiago University. Since 1974 he has been the head of the Overhaul Service at Lugo's Hospital. He is a member of the Galician Academy of Medicine and Surgery and the Academy of Medicine in Asturias and León. He was a doctor in the Olympic Games (Barcelona, 1992). He is the ex-director of the Nursing College in Lugo and president of 'AGAMEDE' (Galician Association of Sports Medicine). He is also the editor of the magazine 'Masaje, técnicas manuales y terapias naturales'. He worked as a doctor at 'La Paz' (Madrid), 'Francisco Franco' (Madrid) and 'Juan Canalejo' (A Coruña) Hospitals.
