He studied Philosophy and Arts in Santiago and Salamanca, where he took a degree in Classic Philology. He is a foundation member of Latin Studies and member of the Institute of Studies on Vigo, which he directs. He collaborated in the radio station ‘Radio Nacional de España’ with cultural matters. He carried out the linguistic normalization in the street guide of Vigo. He got the distinction ‘honorary citizen of Vigo’.
He wrote the following books: Vigo nalgúns dos seus topónimos (1990), published by the City Council of Vigo, Os nomes da Terra de Vigo (1996), Os nomes da Ría de Vigo I (1998), Os nomes da Ría de Vigo II (2000) and Os nomes da Ría de Vigo III (2004). He collaborated as a rapporteur and coordinated courses for teachers, sponsored by the Teacher’s Training Centre in Vigo and Pontevedra. He gave lectures on Galician toponymy.
He taught Greek and Latin Language at ‘Alexandre Bóveda’ Secondary School in Vigo, where he founded the Galician Toponymy Lecture Room.
