He was the president of the old 'Batallón Literario da Costa da Morte'. He was awarded several literary prizes: Tenth Edition of 'Rosalía de Castro' Poetry Prize (Cornellá, Barcelona, 1996) with Cidadela (O verxel das sete fontes), 'Antón Zapata' Poetry Prize (Laxe, 2001), 'Meigas e Trasgos' Poetry Prize (Sarria, 2002), 'Faustino Rei Romero' Poetry Prize (Isorna, Rianxo, 2002), 7th Edition of 'Johán Carballeira' Poetry Prize (Bueu, 2002) with his book Vogar de couse, 7th Edition of 'Manuel Orestes Rodríguez López' Literary Contest (Paradela, 2003) and 3rd Edition of 'Anduriña Voandeira' Poetry Contest (Bilbao, 2003).
