He began to work in the Administration in A Coruña, collaborating in the newspapers of this city, mainly in Diario de la Coruña, which he edited. Afterwards, he was appointed to Madrid, where he collaborated in several newspapers such as El Museo Nacional and La América. He also edited El Correo de las Antillas.
He wrote many works on Spanish customs, monuments and traditions but they were not collected in any book.
He was awarded the first accessit for his poem ‘A la Religión’ in the First Galician Floral Games celebrated in A Coruña in 1861.
