He was the secretary of the Agrarian Chamber, president of Mondariz F.C., director of the bank firm 'Caixa Galicia' in Mondariz, town councillor (first deputy mayor), Mayor and president of the housing cooperatives. These are some of the most important works that were carried out while he was Mayor in Mondariz: Mondariz and Riofrío-Vilar school group, a building for the City Council, sports stadium, health centre, social centre, water supply, road paving, purifying plants, sewer system, recreation areas in the fluvial beaches called 'Val' and 'Cernadela', municipal library and special paths to practise sport.
