He was the first of seven brothers. After studying Primary Education in his town, he studied in the Seminary of Lugo for seven years. From 1972 to 1977, he studied Sociology at Complutense University (Madrid). He got in touch with nationalism in Monforte, where he met Manuel María and Lois Diéguez. In 1974, he began to participate in the creation of ‘Lóstrego’ Cultural Association in Madrid and got in touch with Galician nationalist groups. He also began to collaborate with the Agrarian Commissions in secrecy. He was on the board of directors of the syndicate since the first moment until 1993, first being the secretary in Lugo, then secretary general succeeding the first one, Bernardo Fernández Requeixo, and finally judicial action secretary. He was deputy of the ‘Bloque Nacionalista Gallego’ in Lugo and spokesman of the group in the Galician Parliament about everything related to Agriculture. Nowadays, he is delegate of 'Medio Rural' in Lugo.
