She took a degree in Economics at the University of Vigo and specialized in Public Economy. She entered the Finance Corps of the Xunta de Galicia in 1999.
She filled several offices in the General Intervention of the Xunta de Galicia: head of the inspection and accountancy service until 2001, head of the financial control service until 2004 and subdirector general responsible for financial control until 2009.
She was general auditor of the Autonomous Government from 2009 until she was appointed conselleira responsible for the Treasury Department in January 2011.
In the General Intervention she was in charge of the centre responsible for the internal control of the Galician economical activity.
She controlled all the economical actions, the constant financial control of public institutions, the financial control of actions financed by the European Union and the financial control of benificiaries of public subsidies. The General Intervention is the centre responsible for public accounting in Galicia.
