He took a degree in Geography and History and works as a teacher of Secondary Education at ‘Asorey’ Secondary school in Cambados, which he also directed. Since 1991, he has participated in politics in the PsdeG-PSOE. He has been a town councillor since 1992 and is a member of the Galician National Committee. As a poet, narrator and member of the Association of Writers in Galician Language, he has collaborated in several literary magazines and as a literary critic in the supplement ‘Faro de Cultura’ of the newspaper Faro de Vigo and 'Guía dos Libros Novos'. He is a member of the editorial staff of the Galician-Portuguese magazine 'Parnasur' and collaborates in poetry reading and cultural activities. He participated as a rapporteur and organised the First Conference on Galician Poetry (Vilagarcía, September 1997). He was elected deputy of the PsdeG-PSOE in the elections of the year 2004.

 Work & Activities

He wrote the following poetry books: Manual de Urxencias e Retornos (Accesit of ‘González Garcés’ Prize, A Coruña, 1993), Balsaín Blues (‘Cidade de Ourense’ Prize, 1997, Espiral Maior), Nos tempos de invernía (‘Avelina Valladares’ Prize, A Estrada, 1999) and A luz secreta (‘Tambo’ Collection, County Council of Pontevedra, 2002). He participated in the following poetry collective books: Vis a Vis: 36 poetas e unha idea (1997), O cancioneiro e o mar (1998), Abraço: poesía colectiva (ediçao AALF 2002) and Negra sombra. Intervención poética contra a marea negra (2003). He also wrote the novel Carmín (Xerais, 2002).
