 Curriculum

He took a doctor’s degree in Law at Santiago de Compostela University and has been the director of the ‘Escola Galega de Administración Pública’ (EGAP) since 1996. He filled several teaching and managing offices in the Faculty of Law (Santiago de Compostela University), where he was vice-dean and taught Civil Law (nowadays he is a Professor of Civil Law at A Coruña University). He was a Professor of the postgraduate course on Judicial Law, organised by the Judicial Power General Council and Santiago de Compostela University, the higher degree in Judicial Law, organised by the Judicial Power General Council and A Coruña University, the master in urban rentings and joint-ownership of blocks of flats, organised by Santiago de Compostela University and the master in juridical practise and business law, organised by A Coruña University.

 Work & Activities

He is the author of the following books: La defensa frente a terceros de los intereses del cónyuge en la sociedad de gananciales (Bosch, Barcelona, 1993), El retracto de comuneros y colindantes del Código Civil (Aranzadi, Pamplona, 1995), El plazo de la acción de retracto legal (Valencia, 1995), La propiedad forestal (Tecnos, Madrid, 1997), El Precario (Comares, Granada), a monograph on Galician law and the limits and extent of the autonomic scope on this matter and Los Pactos Sucesorios en el Derecho Civil de Galicia. Besides, he directed a two-volume manual about Galician Law and two books about laws related to cooperatives and hunting in Galicia. He also published over fifty articles in the most important national and international magazines such as ‘Revista Crítica de Derecho Inmobiliario’ and ‘Revista Jurídica General La Ley’.

 Other Interesting Aspects

He gave many lectures in several universities and bar associations in Europe (Italy, France, Germany or Portugal) and America (Brazil, Cuba or Argentina), participated in several national and international conferences and directed many congresses and courses. He is a member of the Commission for the study on the Development of Galician Civil Law and member of the Law Commission, dependent on the Council of Galician Culture. He is on the editorial staff of several specialised juridical magazines such as ‘Revista de la Escuela Gallega de Administración Pública’, which he edits and ‘Revista Jurídica de la Universidad de Santiago de Compostela’. He is also a member of Alfredo Brañas Foundation.
He was awarded San Raimundo de Peñafort Cross in December 2005.
