He studied Secondary Education in Lugo and Law and Arts in Valladolid and Madrid. As he had economic troubles he came back to Lugo and gave private Literature and French lessons. He took part in politics being a member of the Galician Party. In 1962 he entered the Galician Academy making a speech titled Castelao e a tradición galeguista.
COLUMNISTBesides his literary production, he was also a great columnist. His first article was published in 1927 in the newspaper La provincia. In 1934, he published in El Pueblo Gallego his first article written in Galician language. Before the Civil War, he collaborated in magazines such as Guión, Resol, and Yunque. After the war he returned to journalism using the pseudonym 'Neumandro' and collaborated in newspapers such as El Progreso, Hoja del Lunes, La Noche, Faro de Vigo and so forth.LITERARY WORKA lus do candil (1953) was his first book. In 1955 he published another collection of stories titled Terra brava. Pauto do demo was published in Buenos Aires in 1958. In 1972, he published a fantastic story titled ¿E decímolo ou non o decimos?. In 1973, he published Contos da néboa, twenty mystery tales.
The Galician Academy dedicated him ?O Día das Letras Galegas? (The Day of the Galcian Letters) in 1997.
